French Angora Rabbits
The French Angora is one of the five varieties of Angora rabbits: English Angora, French Angora, German Angora, Giant Angora and Satin Angora. French Angoras are a relatively large, dual purpose breed with wool that can be used for spinning and for felting, and with a commercial type body that can be used for meat. They lack the facial furnishings of the English Angora, with wool that has a greater proportion of guard hair. Their wool can be sheared or plucked, depending on the owners' preference and on the line from with the rabbit was produced (some lines' wool growth is more adapted to shearing, while others are more adapted to plucking).
French Angoras come in a wide variety of colors, including Sable Pearl (shown above), Ruby Eyed White (REW), Tortoiseshell, Fawn, Chocolate, Lilac, Black, Blue, Pointed White, Chestnut, Agouti, Sable and Broken.
